Pine Mountain

A couple of Mum's and I decided to tackle a little hike this morning. We headed for Pine Mountain in Alton, which is part of the redlining patch for the Belknaps. The parking for this trail is actually across the street and about 100 yards down from the actual trailhead in the Mike Burke Town Forest lot. We walked around a little before actually figuring out where the trail started. It's relatively short, only about a mile each way, however there are a couple of options to turn the hike into a "lollipop" of sorts. Moderate grades up. The trails are becoming more popular now that the redlining patch is becoming more well known. The views from the top are really something though. A different take on the Lake Winnipesaukee view than you get from Mt Major with minimal effort. I highly recommend this for a quick "bang for your buck" hike.. especially with little kids or inexperienced hikers!
